Loom.Market Online Auction

March 14, 2024 - March 28, 2024

2024 Loom Market Art & Jewelry Auction that is open for bidding on March 14. (Bidding closes March 28, 7pm MST). Auction items include artwork by Indigenous, African American, and Mexican American heritage-based artists from Loom.Market. Find handmade Mata Ortiz pottery, African American Southern-style hats, Indigenous jewelry and more.

All auction items are donated by Loom Market Artists as a way of generating money for the Loom Market Artist Investment Fund, a fund that boosts artists with as-needed financial and technological support. Last year the Loom Market Artist Investment Fund provided technology awards to all Loom Market artists.

In 2024 the fund will respond to artists’ needs in support of their businesses (from tax support to materials or supplies, travel, or marketing).

Loom.Market is an online marketplace where heritage-based artists can sell work, network, and preserve cultural knowledge. Loom Market offers professional development for artists, helps build community with other artists and supporters, and facilitates peer-to-peer learning workshops.Loom Market Artist Homer Marks, Jr. creates woodcarvings and Hopi Kachinas, an artform he learned from his Hopi relatives. Homer has been creating artwork for more than 20 years. “I use the inspiration from both my Hopi and Tohono O’odham background,” he says. “My carvings represent the strong ties between both my cultures.”
