Shannon Eric Denton, James O’Barr, Yoyo, and RHYME to Join Tucson Comic-Con 2024

Tucson Comic-Con is excited to welcome four amazing guests to our 2024 event: Shannon Eric Denton, James O’Barr, Yoyo, and RHYME. Each brings a unique talent and perspective, making this year’s convention a must-attend for fans of comics, art, and music.

Yolanda “Yoyo” Ruiz, a self-taught artist from Colorado, is known for her whimsical style featuring big eyes and creepy cuties. She began her cover art journey with Coffin Comics’ Lady Death and has since provided covers for HellWitch, La Muerta, Eule’s Vision, and MetalShade’s Hex and Divinica. Yoyo continues to work with various comic book creators while developing her original work.

James O’Barr is the award-winning creator of The Crow and writer of Curare and Skinning the Wolves from IDW Publishing. Born in Detroit, O’Barr created The Crow while stationed in Berlin in the late 70s as a way to cope with the death of his fiancée. O’Barr has worked for every major publisher and recently completed a record-breaking signing tour for the Italian Edition of The Crow. His latest book is James O’Barr: Uncoffined from Eva Ink Publishing.

David “Artassassin” Harrigan has been a freelance illustrator for 20 years, working on a variety of projects from book covers to comic books. He is known for his cover work on Coffin Comics’ Lady Death, Hellwitch, and La Muerta, having completed over 200 covers. Harrigan has also worked on titles such as Vampirella, Dark Red, Cavewoman, Zombie Tramp, and many more.

RHYME is a Tokyo-based artist who blends music, performance, and visual artistry into a mesmerizing experience. Known for integrating her poetry into music and figure skating, RHYME has performed worldwide. She is part of the duo RHYME SO with Shinichi Osawa and has worked with artists like Sophie Ellis-Bextor and MILK. RHYME also voices Goldstar in the sci-fi podcast m00m world.
