\Following their exciting fall seasons, the RedHawks of Miami (OH) University and the Rams of Colorado State University have been invited to play at the Snoop Dogg Arizona Bowl Presented by Gin & Juice by Dre and Snoop on December 28 at 2:30 MST pm at Arizona Stadium.

The invitations were personally extended to RedHawks Coach Chuck Martin and Rams Coach Jay Norvell earlier today.

Arizona Bowl Executive Director Kym Adair is thrilled to be welcoming these two dynamic programs to Tucson on the heels of their regular seasons.

“Both the Miami and Colorado State football programs are known to be fan-fueled, and we look forward to welcoming their alumni and broad fan bases to Tucson with our signature Sonoran warmth and hospitality,” said Adair. “And with this being our first year affiliated with Snoop Dogg and Gin & Juice by Dre and Snoop, prepare for post-season college football to be catapulted to new heights. What’s in store is simply unimaginable when compared to yesterday’s bowl standard, and it’s all done to support the community, veterans, first responders, teachers, and local charities.

Miami (8-5) comes to Tucson fresh off a second straight appearance in the MAC Conference Championship game, and while the Redhawks didn’t take home a title from Detroit, they are flying high at the chance to lift the trophy in Tucson. Led by sixth year Quarterback Brett Gabbert, the Miami offense is machine like in their fundamental football, capping signature long scoring drives with points on the board. Gabbert has thrown 59 touchdowns in his career, a mark that trails only Redhawk legends Ben Roethlisberger (84) and Zac Dysert (73). On the defensive side, senior Ty Wise is a problem for opposing offenses. Wise racked up 17 tackles in Saturday’s championship game, including his fifth sack of the season. Miami is led by veteran Head Coach Chuck Martin, who has a wealth of experience including leading Notre Dame’s offense to the 2012 BCS National Championship game.

Colorado State charges into the desert with an impressive record of 8-4, led by another top offense, and signature Rams defense. CSU will ride the momentum of a historic 17-point fourth quarter comeback in their final game of the regular season, scoring 29 points in the frame to top Utah State 42-37. Led by stellar Quarterback Brayden Fowler-Nicolosi, the Rams will look to go to the air for a potent passing attack. They will be missing two-time All-Mountain West receiver Tory Horton, however, as Horton was lost to a season ending injury in the regular season. Linebacker Buom Jock anchors the Rams defense and posted 100 tackles in his first season as starting linebacker. Head Coach Jay Norvell is no stranger to the Arizona Bowl, as he will be making his second Head Coaching appearance in Tucson after leading Nevada to an overtime win in 2018.

RedHawks and Rams fans will have the opportunity to experience Tucson’s hospitality beginning on December 27 at 5:00 pm MST at the Downtown Pep Rally at 5th and Toole Avenues. The event will feature both football programs’ bands, cheerleaders, and mascots in a friendly rivalry. The event will be emceed by national broadcaster Thom Brenneman.

On December 28, the gameday schedule starts at 10:00 am MST on the University of Arizona Mall with the Tailgate Festival. The event will include food and beer vendors, with plenty of Gin & Juice, a ready-to-drink canned cocktail in four refreshing flavors, cornhole, alumni parties, a stage with DJ entertainment, a Battle of the Bands competition between both teams’ marching bands, and a Gin & Juice House with hip-hop vibes.

The Heroes Tribute Pre-Game Show inside Arizona Stadium will commence at 2:00 pm MST as A-10 jets from Davis Monthan Air Force Base fly overhead and the legendary Wings of Blue skydivers descend into Arizona Stadium to honor the men and women who serve on our behalf.

Snoop Dogg himself will be visible throughout the game, including at the coin toss, in the TV broadcast booth, and a few special activities that fans at the game will get to witness.

The celebrations will continue on December 31 at the Taco Bell New Year’s Eve Downtown Bowl Bash, Tucson’s take on Times Square, beginning at 6:00 pm MST at the Mural Lot at 41 E. Congress Steet. Live music will be performed throughout the evening. The Bash-worthy lineup will also include a Silent Disco presented by Tucson Federal Credit Union, food trucks and beer stations, and the world-renowned taco drop at midnight followed by a spectacular firework show presented by O’Rielly Chevrolet.
