Brooklyn Feminist Rapper ALY G New Music Video

Brooklyn Feminist Rapper ALY G has just premiered her newest music video “Super Power” via The Hype Magazine!

The Hype says, “In the latest musical offering from Brooklyn’s own ALY G, the ‘Super Power’ music video emerges as a testament to the strength and resilience of womanhood. Produced by none other than GRAMMY-nominated maestro Baby Paul, whose credits include collaborations with icons like Nas, Kanye West, and J Dilla, and shot under the skilled lens of Chardon Whitehurst, Executive Producer for “The Punchline Academy” on Eminem’s Sirius XM Hip Hop Channel: Shade 45, the video captures the essence of empowerment against the gritty backdrop of the Iron Triangle in Queens, NY.”

ALY G is the hip hop project of Brooklyn based singer/songwriter and CUNY Professor Alyson Greenfield. Greenfield’s music has been heard on Fox, Lifetime TV, Teen Vogue, WNYC, Tribeca Film; she is one half of POLYVOX, a duo with Joe McGinty (Psychedelic Furs, Gotye, Nada Surf); and she was also one of the first five artists chosen to record at Converse’s Rubber Tracks Studio.  Additionally, Greenfield founded and directed the Tinderbox Music Festival (The New York Times, The New Yorker, Billboard, Glamour), which showcased more than 100 female-identified artists from all over the world while giving back to NYC nonprofits empowering young women through the arts.

ALY G BIO:

Spitting rapid-fire rhymes with equal parts fun, feminism, and fierceness, Brooklyn’s ALY G slays the mic with quirky, clever raps about gentrification, misogyny, superpowers, and ovaries. She’s twice been featured at The American Beatboxing Championships (w/ props from The Roots’ Rahzel) and has shared stages with artist/actress Awkwafina and visionary emcee Jean Grae.

Her debut banger and video about life in Brooklyn, “Build It Up”, was released at the end of summer 2023. Music For All Magazine dubbs ALY G “one of the most intriguing artists to emerge in recent times” with “a debut that shakes all possible structures,” & The Big Takeover says “Build It Up” is “a rallying cry, an ode to defiance in the face of encroaching change, a voice that refuses to be drowned out.”

ALY G’s follow-up single “Super Power” just dropped, and she is currently working on collabs with Grammy-Nominated Producer BABY PAUL (Nas, J Dilla, Monie Love, Kanye West) & JON BLOK.
