2026 Durango Blues Train

August 20 - August 22

Durango, Colorado — The Durango Blues Train is back on the rails in 2026, returning for another unforgettable, music-filled journey through the San Juan Mountains. Taking place August 20-22, 2026, this one-of-a-kind experience combines live blues performances with a scenic ride aboard the historic Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad.

Passengers will travel by steam-powered train through the spectacular canyons of the San Juan National Forest while enjoying six live blues performances throughout the evening. Each artist performs in their own vintage train coach, creating an immersive and festive musical environment that encourages guests to move freely from car to car. Four coaches offer seating, while two open coaches are dedicated to dancing and standing room.

In addition to live music, guests can enjoy an evening on the rails featuring some of Colorado’s best craft beer and wine, all set against the backdrop of breathtaking mountain scenery.

The 2026 artist lineup will be announced on February 24, with tickets going on sale February 26.

In addition to the Durango Blues Train, the event producers have also introduced two new music train experiences: the Durango Bluegrass Train, taking place May 28–30 in Durango, Colorado, and the Great Smoky Mountains Music Train, set for June 5–6 in Bryson City, North Carolina.

The Blues Train is an exciting 3.5-hour moving musical experience of live blues music on board the steam-powered Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad through the San Juan National Forest. The event starts and ends in Durango, Colorado featuring six live blues performances inside the train coaches with a festive musical environment. Each artist performs in their own vintage coach, while passengers can pass freely from coach to coach. The Blues Train with nine passenger cars, a steam-engine locomotive, two full bands, four solo/duo acts and three craft beer and wine bars.
