Saturdays, a dynamic urban street fair, was founded by a group of dedicated community members ten years ago to create awareness and enjoyment of all that Downtown Tucson had to offer. It was a remarkable success from day one – a delightful rite of spring/summer experience for all ages giving them the opportunity to stroll and explore downtown and to enjoy live music, street performers, unique vendor booths, food and drink and more. Now, as the world and downtown takes on a new glow with many new restaurants and business establishments it is fitting that the 10th Anniversary of this iconic event returns bigger and better than ever.
The next 2nd Saturday is on Saturday, May 14th from 6-10pm. Activity area ranges from the Rialto Theatre on the east end to the Fox Theatre at the north end, with vendors and entertainers located on Congress as well as 5th Ave and Scott, and the main stage located at Scott and Broadway Blvd featuring entertainment throughout the evening. Each month will highlight a different mix of musical entertainment. The lineup to date for April 9th includes: Sophia Rankin and The Sound, Los Velvets and others on the main stage with a variety of others throughout downtown.
