8th Annual UCLA Extension Film Festival

The 8th Annual UCLA Extension Film Festival (UCLAxFilmFest) features three days of no-cost, in-person events showcasing an array of outstanding films from the brilliant minds of UCLA Extension Entertainment Studies’ students and alumni. The festival will feature screenings, an award ceremony, and multiple networking opportunities culminating in an unforgettable celebration at the historic Los Angeles Theatre in downtown Los Angeles (DTLA).
The festival will screen 19 films with the main event at the historic Los Angeles Theatre, a beautifully ornate venue that represents the golden era of Hollywood. The awards to be presented include Best Film, Best Director, Best Cinematography, and more.
In addition to the screenings, UCLA’s Alumni Association will host an Entertainment Industry Panel & Networking Reception on May 3 featuring industry leaders such as Kelly Kiernan, Jeanette B. Milio, and others, discussing key topics like financing and producing your first feature. This event is scheduled at City Club LA, offering attendees a chance to network with industry experts and alumni while taking in the spectacular views of Los Angeles.
Join us for this spectacular three-day event that promises to be a cinematic celebration of student creativity and a notable addition to the cultural calendar of Downtown Los Angeles.
Open to the public, the event highlights the work of current and former students in roles such as producers, writers, directors, and composers. Eric Bullard, the dean of continuing education and UCLA Extension, emphasizes the festival’s role in celebrating student achievements and boosting the local economy.
