ALAN PARSONS LIVE PROJECT’S EYE IN THE SKY 40TH ANNIVERSARY TOUR
Saturday, April 16th at Celebrity Theatre
PHOENIX, AZ – Danny Zelisko Presents brings the legendary Alan Parsons Live Project to the historic Celebrity Theatre at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 16th. For tickets, please visit celebritytheatre.com
This year marks the 40th anniversary of the Grammy Award-winning Eye in the Sky, Alan Parsons Project’s sixth studio album, released in May 1982 by Arista Records. The album was a major success reaching the Top ten and sometimes the number one slot in numerous countries. The collection featured the album’s title track and “Sirius,” which became an NBA sporting event staple.
Parsons began his storied career as an assistant engineer at the famed Abbey Road Studios working on projects such as The Beatles’ Abbey Road and Let It Be. He quickly transitioned into one of the most sought-after names in the recording industry. Other career defining records: Pink Floyd’s The Dark Side of the Moon, the successful Year Of The Cat album with Al Stewart, and two albums with American prog rock band Ambrosia to name a few.
After earning accolades for his work behind the glass, Parsons, a true Renaissance man and talented musician, formed The Alan Parsons Project, a multi-platinum selling progressive rock band featuring Parsons, his collaborator Eric Woolfson and a rotating cast of studio musicians. The Alan Parsons Project released 10 concept albums between 1976-1987 and have sold over 50 million albums worldwide. Certified Billboard Top 40 hit singles include “Eye in the Sky,” “Time” and “Don’t Answer Me.” Since Woolfson’s passing, Parsons now performs with a band of musicians and plays largely Alan Parsons Project material. To date Parsons has received gold and platinum awards, 13 Grammy Award nominations and one Grammy.
With his 2014 book, “Art & Science of Sound Recording,” Parsons has been leading the way regarding technology, blending tech with art for his craft as a recording engineer and producer-performer. Compiling his years of expertise into his book (and DVD set), there’s nothing else like it available in the marketplace.
