ARTS FOUNDATION ARTIST REGISTRATION FOR 2024 FALL OPEN STUDIO TOURS

July 10, 2024 - November 10, 2024

The Arts Foundation for Tucson and Southern Arizona is excited to announce the launch of the artist registration for the 2024 Open Studio Tours (OST), starting on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, and closing Tuesday, September 10, 2024. OST is an annual event where artists open their studio doors to the public both in-person and virtually. This three-day event, organized by the Arts Foundation, showcases our community’s vibrant creativity and fosters deeper connections between artists, art enthusiasts, and the general public who visit their studios. Registering to participate in the OST In-person Tours is available for artists based throughout the greater Tucson area. Virtual Tours are open to all artists who reside within the Arts Foundation service region.

The 2024 Open Studio Tours, scheduled for November 8-10, 2024, is one of the region’s largest self-guided showcases of artist studios and creative workspaces. This program offers a rare glimpse into the creation of art and provides insight into artistic techniques and processes in all disciplines. Both in-person and virtual tours create new opportunities for artists to connect with wider audiences and market their artwork.

“As an artist myself, I deeply appreciate the importance of creating opportunities and breaking down barriers for artists to exhibit their work,” said David Gaxiola, Arts Foundation Program Coordinator. “That’s why I am incredibly excited about this year’s Open Studio Tours! This program provides a phenomenal opportunity for artists working in any discipline to showcase their work by opening their studios at no charge and benefiting from extensive state-wide marketing and promotional efforts. After listening to feedback from artists and visitors, we’ve introduced exciting new features to enhance the experience for everyone. With our extended promotional outreach, enhanced online profiles, webpages, and interactive maps, we’re making it easier than ever for visitors to explore and engage with the talented Southern Arizona creative community.”

A highlight of this year’s event is the continuation of the Studio Spotlight: Video Scholarship, a lottery-based scholarship that offers local artists professional videography services valued at $500. These services are aimed at producing videos that highlight the artistic process within each creative workspace, offering artists a dynamic way to engage with their audience through enhanced content for their portfolios, websites, and social media platforms. The initiative is especially welcoming to artists with non-traditional studios or workspaces. Participants interested in the Studio Stoplight Scholarship can opt-in when registering for the 2024 Open Studio Tours.

The Arts Foundation welcomes creatives from all art disciplines, including but not limited to visual, performing and literary artists like painters, ceramists, jewelers, designers, musicians, writers, poets, spoken word artists, dancers, actors, and filmmakers, to showcase their workspaces, processes, and creative work. The 2024 Open Studio Tours is made possible with funding from the City of Tucson, Pima County Department of Attractions and Tourism and the Arizona Commission on the Arts, as well as a new partnership with Visit Tucson.
