Cave Creek Museum Season

October 1, 2025 @ 1:00 pm - May 31, 2026 @ 4:30 pm MST

Cave Creek, Arizona – Cave Creek Museum will open on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, from 1-4:30 PM, for the 2025-2026 season. Attendance is free for everyone on opening day.

“We look forward to opening our doors to a record number of visitors,” says JoAnn Stuckey, museum executive director. “Come and explore our wonderful collection of pre-historic pottery and artifacts in our Archaeology Wing, linger in the History Wing and follow Cave Creek’s evolution from a military outpost to the town we love today, and of course, check out our indoor and outdoor exhibits and learn more about Cave Creek’s fascinating mining history. I encourage members and visitors to bring friends and families to the museum to see what’s new.”

The 55-year-old museum’s mission is to preserve the artifacts of the prehistory, history, culture and legacy of the Cave Creek Mining District and the Cave Creek/Carefree foothills area through education, research, and interpretive exhibits. The Cave Creek Museum is located at 6140 E. Skyline Drive in Cave Creek, Ariz., 480.488.2764. Open October through May.

Cave Creek Museum offers special orientation for volunteers

August 11, 2025, Cave Creek, Arizona – Cave Creek Museum will host two convenient volunteer orientation sessions for people interested in serving the unique, local history museum. The first will take place on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, from 9:30 AM-12 PM. The second session will be held on Thursday, September 11 from 1:30-4 PM. The museum is located at 6140 E. Skyline Drive in Cave Creek, Ariz. To sign up, visit volunteers@cavecreekmuseum.com.

“If you’re interested in serving your local museum, just select the one day that works best for you,” says Debbie Clement, volunteer chair. “We are busy preparing for the new season which begins Wednesday, October 1, 2025. Our volunteers enjoy sharing information about the area’s first local inhabitants, the Hohokam, and the mining, ranching and early settlers – all while making local friends and meeting visitors from around the country and globe.”

Clement says the sessions will provide an overall view of the museum, its key exhibits, events and special programs. Cave Creek Museum is looking for individuals to:

• greet visitors

• share knowledge and answer general questions about the local history of the foothills

• assist with administrative duties and for data entry

• help with events and special programs

• assist with student tours and family programs

“You don’t need to be a miner, an engineer, an archaeologist, a historian, an artist or an expert of any kind,” says Clement. “Whatever your background, your time and contribution will be appreciated. Our engaged and dynamic volunteers continue to provide the museum with fresh perspective, creativity, daily inspiration and endless fun. A bonus is the wonderful friends you will make here.”

Clement says people who are interested in learning about Cave Creek Museum and meeting new people, should RSVP, via email, to volunteers@cavecreekmuseum.com.
