Free Community Festival in Sahuarita Highlights Mexican Culture, Cuisine and Art on June 5, 2021

The Celebración Sahuarita event will bring together the community through dance, art activities, traditional food, and culture

SAHUARITA, AZ—Join the Southern Arizona Arts & Cultural Alliance and the Town of Sahuarita to present a much-anticipated all-ages opportunity to engage in art and culture as a community.

On Saturday, June 5, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Celebración Sahuarita will highlight the diversity of Mexican culture, cuisine, and entertainment in the region.
The event is set to take place in the open-air grass soccer field of the Quail Creek – Veterans Municipal Park. Guests will enjoy a safe and socially distanced atmosphere throughout the evening. Attendees are invited to bring their picnic blankets and chairs to enjoy the event in the large outdoor space with their family and friends.

Celebración Sahuarita will feature live painting with local artists Victor Navarro and Eli Farias, who will display individual works for sale. Additionally, featured artisans will be onsite selling and displaying Mexican crafts and artwork for sale.
A live headlining musical performance by Rafael Moreno and Friends will keep guests dancing the night away with classic Latin sounds, performing a variety of Salsa, Bolero, Samba, Latin and American Jazz, and Ranchero standards. Guests can also enjoy mariachi and ballet Folklorico dance performances, and a live DJ to keep the experience memorable and festive.

Attendees of all ages will enjoy their time at the event, including grab-and-go art activities with onsite demonstrations. Some of the activity highlights include sugar skull salt ornament painting kits, paper flowers, and Picado flags, and Frida Kahlo flower headbands.

· Blondie Bar (Variety of handcrafted gourmet blondie brownies. Featured event flavor: Horchata Blondie)
· Tropical Shavings (Tropical Shaved Ice. Featured event flavors include: Mango or Strawberry Shaved Ice with a Chamoy topping, Takis and Hot chips with Chamoy)
· Parritas Mexican Food (Authentic Mexican Food entrees)
· Kettlelicious (Handcrafted Kettle corn. Featured event flavor includes Spicy and Sweet Kettle Corn such as the Jalapeño Cheddar and Pepper Hot and Caramel Apple Dippers w/Tajin and Jalapeño Lemonade!)
· Quesadillas and More (Authentic Mexican Food entrees)
