Diaper Bank Love. Period.
February 1 - February 28
The Diaper Bank of Southern Arizona dedicates the month of February to ending period poverty in Southern Arizona through their third-annual “Love. Period.” campaign.
In the United States, 1 in 4 women struggle to afford period supplies. Period poverty causes 1 in 5 women to miss school, work, or social events due to lack of access to period supplies, increases the risk for adverse health consequences, and is directly linked to decreased self-perception and mental health. The diaper bank fights period poverty in Southern Arizona by providing over 200,000 menstrual products each year to women and menstruators. Individuals and businesses of the Tucson community are invited to help join the fight towards menstrual equity by participating in “Love. Period” in three ways.
Host a Period Supply Drive – Help raise products for distribution by hosting a period supply drive. This can be done both virtually and in-person. Businesses are encouraged to offer a discount or free service/product in exchange for a box of pads or tampons or an online donation to the diaper bank.
Promote. Love. Period. – Hang flyers or share posts from @AccessPeriodAZ on Instagram and Facebook that promote local period supply drives or education on period poverty.
Donate – Drop off donations of tampons, pads, or reusable menstrual products to the Diaper Bank of Southern Arizona or one of 5 participating businesses – MAST Jewelry, Sam’s Place, Casa Kira, The Bra Spa or Eastland Alley Design Co. Online donations can be made on the Diaper Banks website www.diaperbank.org or at https://interland3.donorperfect.net/weblink/WebLink.aspx?name=E349184&id=65
The Diaper Bank of Southern Arizona provides diapers, menstrual products, and incontinence supplies to low-income individuals and families in need through local partner agencies.
