EMMA OGIER DROPS NEW SINGLE “BELIEVING” & TOUR DATES

May 13 - October 4

Houston-born, Nashville-based singer/songwriter Emma Ogier drops her new single, “Believing.”Released today via Lost Highway Records, the song is an intimate reflection on keeping faith in the face of uncertainty. Listen HERE.

“‘Believing’ is about the fear that comes with chasing something risky and unknown while believing enough to know you can’t walk away,” explains Emma Ogier. “Love leads to loss. Loss leads to rebirth. This cycle connects us all. It’s a song for the letter knife on the counter and the spit you use to seal an envelope. There’s danger in everything, even love. But without danger, nothing means much. ‘Believing’ is a song about that human predicament.”

The accompanying video is a shimmering slice of summer life with joyous scenes of Ogier singing in the middle of a creek and creating expansive black and white illustrations by day and nights illumined by twinkling lights and fireworks. Shot in Nashville, the video was directed by Joey Brodnax (moony, Briston Maroney). View HERE.

On May 13, Ogier will open for Stella Lefty at The Moroccan Lounge in Los Angeles. She will play Musicians Corner in Nashville with SG Goodman and Braison Cyrus on June 12 and then head to the UK, where she’ll perform at the inaugural State Fayre festival in Chelmsford on June 26. She will also be performing during Weekend One of Austin City Limits Music Festival (October 2-4). See below for itinerary. Tickets are available HERE.

“Believing” comes on the heels of “Baby Don’t Hurt Me,” a bold and emotionally-charged song that launched a new chapter for Ogier. Listen to “Baby Don’t Hurt Me” HERE. View the official video HERE. Both songs were written by Ogier and produced by David Baron (Lumineers, Michael Marcagi, Jade Bird). Together, they showcase the raw vulnerability and sharp, contemplative songwriting that characterizes her rich blend of alternative pop and Americana.

Ogier discovered her proclivity for writing songs during the pandemic, a time of unceasing isolation for a teenager. Her songs strive to embody the best of what art is capable of doing: reimagining the familiar with the kind of irreverence that gives life to something new. With lyrics that tow the line between abstract reflection and plainspoken truths, her work is evocative of classic songwriters yet rings with a fresh, singular perspective. As The Luna Collective noted, “[Ogier creates] pieces that make you feel. They are feel-good upon first listen and contemplative once the lyrics settle in.” She is currently at work on her debut album.
