ESTHER ROSE RELEASES WANT DELUXE & TOUR DATES
In celebration of its one-year anniversary, Esther Rose has released Want Deluxe today via New West Records. The expanded edition features the original Want album with 2 new versions of the singles “New Bad (Lockeland Strings Version)” and “The Clown (DJ George Costanza Remix).”
It also features the Want outtakes, “Heather,” and “That’s My DJ,” which were released as a double single late last year. Released on May 2, 2025, Want found Rose leaning toward confrontational arrangements full of distortion and full-band spontaneity. Met with critical acclaim, MOJO said in their 4 Star review, “Caution be damned — Want merits unreserved attention,” while No Depression said “Rose’s confidence as a writer and performer has been steadily growing, and it is some kind of miracle to see her stepping so fully into the light where she belongs.” Paste said, “Want is wild and wise—a career-best pocket of miracles,” while Brooklyn Vegan exclaimed, “…she made her loudest, boldest, most confident, and best album yet.”
Rose says, “I can’t believe it’s been a whole year of Want! I’m so grateful for where this record has taken me in the last year. Playing these songs live on stage for fans, and getting to see how people connect with them and hold them close is so beautiful. I’m really excited to share the Deluxe with the two new versions. I think they show the range that music can offer, from serious to silly, and how it’s all important.”
Rose will launch a full band tour on June 4 in Durham, NC. The summer dates will also feature appearances at the Dog Days Fest, Green River Festival, Latitude Festival in the U.K, Pickathon, and the Evanston Folk Festival. Please see tour dates below.
