On Saturday, October 8, Saint Philip’s will host a variety of free events for children and adults beginning with the Blessing of the Animals.
8:30am
The Blessing of the Animals worship service will begin outside near the pet memorial and move inside the church. Last year’s service welcomed lots of dogs, some cats, a turtle, and a rabbit. (Stuffed animals will be available for children who would like to participate but don’t have a pet.)

* Free Saint Francis pet medallions to put on animal collars
* Face painting in the Murphey Gallery
* Create your own animal from clay to take home
* Meet cats and dogs available for adoption
* Enjoy some magic performed by the roving magician
* Commemorative bricks to remember your beloved pet
* Free microchip clinic
* “Our Creatures Great and Small” art exhibit and sale featuring local, professional artists

* Watch a demonstration by the Sheriff’s department to learn how the K-9 team works
12:00pm
* Meet and learn about therapy animals with representatives from Pet Partners of Southern Arizona and Gabriel’s Angels
* Learn how to draw a roadrunner with guided help from professional designer and parishioner, Jeanine Colini
1:00pm
* Meet Citan, a Harris’s hawk, and his handler, Alan.
Food and beverages will be for sale courtesy of Jaiy’s Sonoran Hot Dog food truck and the Cafe Justo beverage truck.
