INVISIBLE THEATRE 2023-2024 SEASON

Invisible Theatre’s Managing Artistic Director, Susan Claassen and Associate Managing Artistic Director Betsy Kruse Craig, announced six plays for the company’s 52nd Anniversary Season. The lineup includes the SW premieres of acclaimed Off-Broadway contemporary plays, romantic comedies, the Arizona premieres of tributes to 20th Century Musical Icons and Defenders of Liberty.

Claassen and Craig said, “We are offering an early bird price that is the same as last season as our way of saying thank you to all our patrons who helped to see us through the crazy roller coaster of the last three years. We are thrilled to announce this amazing line-up of an exciting, enticing, diverse lineup of plays, actors and directors, to celebrate Invisible Theatre’s mission of bringing quality theatre experiences in an intimate setting to all facets of the community. We guarantee that our exciting mix of contemporary works, solo journeys and world premieres will offer something for every theater-goer. The future of a whimsical, almost magical bookstore is uncertain after the owner dies and leaves the shop to her niece, Rachel, who doesn’t have the time or patience to run a bookstore, so when real estate magnate Max Brewer offers her more money than she can imagine to turn the store into an apartment complex, her choice seems like a no-brainer. But as the shop works its magic on her and she gets to know the eccentric employees and clientele, she starts to wonder: Can you really put a price on a beloved community bookstore?

FROM BROADWAY TO HOLLYWOOD features award winning pianist, historian and master story teller Richard Glazier in a multi-media musical tour-de-force from the Tin Pan Alley to Tinsel Town! Richard Glazier combines fascinating backstories, the Jewish influence of composers, with performances of songs from “My Fair Lady” to “An American in Paris” to “Over the Rainbow”, and “Pure Imagination” as well as a Bacharach medley and Khachaturian’s Sabre Dance. The production features exclusive interview footage with some of the magnificent composers and performers. The grand finale is the complete solo version of Gershwin’s “Rhapsody in Blue”.

Invisible Theatre’s 2023-2024 Season Ticket Campaign is now underway for an Early Bird Price of only $180 (plus $5 handling fee!) for the six play, Main Stage, Season. Subscribers can save up to a $60 savings over the cost of purchasing individual tickets to shows and can enjoy exclusive benefits given to season ticket holders such as priority reserved, seating, $5 discount on guest show tickets, flexible ticket exchange and discounts on all IT special events. The price goes up on June 16, 2023.

The Invisible Theatre (IT) of Tucson, a 501(c)(3) organization, is dedicated to producing quality theatre and arts education experiences for all facets of the community in an intimate setting that showcases local professional talent and guest artists. IT takes its name from the invisible energy that flows between a performer and audience, creating the magic of theatre. Started in 1971 as an arena for local playwrights, the theatre has expanded its programs to include adaptations of classics and recent Off-Broadway plays and musicals, while continuing to encourage new playwrights through both full productions and staged readings.
