Join us at the Fox for a joyful celebration of literacy and our home in the Sonoran Desert amidst the glorious monsoon season! This year we’ll remember and celebrate the beloved, local writer of the desert, Byrd Baylor, who passed away last summer.
Timeline: Doors open and pre-show activities begin at 2pm. Movie begins at 3pm.
Get ready for:
• Fun and hands-on literacy and desert activities
• The Academy Award Nominated animated short movie, “The Gruffalo,” based on the beloved children’s book
• An audio-visual feast of the Sonoran Desert, set to Byrd Baylor herself reading excerpts from her books
• Storytimes based around the featured authors
• A sing-and-dance-along with mascots Kit the Fox and Boomer the Bear
• Free books, activity kits, and other goodies
Recommended for children aged 4-10, but everyone is welcome! The event is free, but please register above.
