Ohio Players

Ohio Players are an American national treasure; a band that truly changed the face of music forever. During their heights they produced 17 Top 40 hits, 3 platinum and 5 gold selling albums, including masterpiece songs such as ‘Skin Tight’, ‘Fire’, ‘Love Rollercoaster’ and ‘Who’d She Coo?’. February 2022 marks the 50th anniversary of the breakthrough album “Pain” released in February 1972. It was their debut album on the Westbound label. This album established a number of Players iconic moments: with the loose free form rhythms, classy horns, jazz fusion, funky licks and the progressive erotic album covers of striking actress and model Pat Evans.
The original Players members of James ‘Diamond’ Williams (Drummer), Billy Beck, (Keyboardist), Clarence ‘Chet’ Willis (Guitarist) and Robert ‘Kuumba’ Jones (Percussionist) are still touring. If you would like to see them live, they will be performing at the Jump on the Love Train event on February 12 at the Toyota Arena in Ontario, CA.
