skaiwater Releases New Album & Tour

March 9 - May 10

Genre-defying artist skaiwater releases their highly anticipated new album, Wonderful — their first full-length project as an independent artist. Entirely self-directed and deeply hands-on, the album marks a new chapter for skaiwater, who not only mixed the project themselves but also oversaw the creative direction across visuals and world-building. The follow-up to their critically acclaimed album, #MIA (Manic in America), which earned praise from Pitchfork (naming “pop” a Best New Track) and was highlighted by Paper Magazine for skaiwater’s “genre-bending moves [that] seamlessly traverse musical, cultural, and digital worlds.” Wonderful marks the next evolution in the UK-born artist’s sound and vision. Wonderful reflects skaiwater’s perspective on the chaos of the modern world, exploring themes of programming, social influence, and misinformation through the lens of media and film, and drawing inspiration from historical Hollywood narratives to cultural conspiracies.

They describe the project as “nepotism music,” a term they use to capture how they’ve shaped their life and career to reach this moment as an artist in America. The 18-track album features production from skaiwater, North West, Bankroll Got It, and more, with collaborations from Tezzus, Ti Steele, and diamond*. From the high-energy focus track “DOG ft Tezzus” to the slower, introspective songs, titled in lowercase and inspired by films such as Above So Below, One Battle After Another, Bodies Bodies Bodies, Midsommar, and The Substance. Wonderful blends alt-rap energy with R&B-infused moments of reflection. Listen to Wonderful HERE.

Alongside the album, skaiwater is releasing a curated collection of limited-edition merchandise, including light sticks, posters, vinyl, t-shirts, and a VIP box with an NFC chip unlocking exclusive digital content. Available HERE for purchase. Last night, skaiwater also shared a behind-the-scenes documentary, featuring years’ worth of unreleased footage documenting their journey and life behind the camera, including moments with friends and collaborators like Che, Tana, Rich Amiri, Lil Uzi Vert, Lil Nas X, Anycia, PinkPantheress, and more. Watch HERE.

skaiwater also recently announced their first U.S. headline “Wonderful” Tour, bringing the album to fans across the country for the first time. Kicking off March 9 in Phoenix, the tour will make stops across the country before wrapping April 2 in Los Angeles. The run marks the UK artist’s first tour since the release of their critically acclaimed sophomore album, #mia (Manic in America). In addition to the tour announcement, they were recently announced as a performer at Rolling Loud Orlando, where they will take the stage on May 10. General on-sale is available now via https://skaiwater.com/pages/tour. Full routing below.

Prior to #mia, skaiwater shared #gigi, which was named The FADER’s “Album of the Year” and earned spots on numerous “Best of 2024” lists, including Rolling Stone, Complex, and Pitchfork. #gigi features several standout tracks including “light!” with Lil Nas X and produced by 9lives, a poignant exploration of young love and hidden toxicity; “bleach,” a dynamic blend of energetic rap and smooth vocals showcasing skai’s resilience and vulnerability; and “wna Torture Me Tn?” featuring rising Atlanta rapper Karrahbooo. Listen HERE.

Building on the success of #mia and #gigi, skaiwater has spent recent years expanding their reach and shaping a distinctive musical identity. They’ve collaborated in the studio with Skepta, joined PinkPantheress as a special guest on her North American tour in Los Angeles, toured with BKThaRula, and performed at Rolling Loud. In 2025, skaiwater was named one of Our Generation Music’s “Artists to Watch,” and more recently, they made waves appearing “In the Booth” with Plaqueboymax and featured on K-Pop girl group I-DLE’s latest single, “Mono,” which has since amassed over 20 million views on YouTube alone. With these milestones as a springboard, skaiwater continues to push boundaries, unapologetically shaping the future, one bold move at a time.
