Chicas MujeresUsing the Boys to Men Talking Circle format, the proposed program will support girls on their journey into womanhood. The program is designed to provide space for girls and “mother” figures to connect, comfort, learn and have fun in a space designed to be educational, safe, bilingual, and nonjudgemental. The girl/femme identified centered program will integrate frameworks offered by Boys to Men Tucson and The YWCA to encourage healthy development, authenticity, accountability, and empowerment.

Connecting Dads and Sons

Boys to Men Tucson and Parent Aid are connecting dads and their teenaged sons. The program would utilize best practices learned by BTMT through their Talking Circles and apply them to circles that would engage both dads and their masculine-identified youth in circles happening simultaneously. By identifying healthy forms of masculine expression, both groups will feel more bonded to each other and support their foundation of a lifelong relationship.

Parent Café

Parent Aid and JobPath are collaborating to launch a quarterly event called Parent Café!This event will focus on providing support, resources, and services to families and parents attending a higher level of schooling. During this event, JobPath will be providing childcare to parents who need it, fostering an environment focused on positive communication and social interactions, with a safe place for children to engage with staff in arts, crafts, and playtime.

Restorative Circles Training

The Restorative Circles Training Initiative, led by Boys to Men Tucson and ICS, aims to collaborate on developing a comprehensive training curriculum. This curriculum will foster a safe environment to enhance the well-being of those served, providing crucial trauma-informed training for our clients. Learning how to work with individuals in a safe place is essential for those we serve.

Story Project

The YWCA, partnering with Make Way for Books, brings the enchantment of storytelling and literacy to families in our community through the Story Project. YWCA will transform its campuses into vibrant centers of learning and imagination, offering bilingual Story School Projects at Bonita Ave and House of Neighborly Services in South Tucson. The project aims to help families develop literacy skills together and experience the joy of books.

Tucson Jewish Free Loan and Jobpath FundIntroducing the JobPath and Tucson Jewish Free Loan Fund, a program aimed at bridging the gap between education and employment for our community’s students. Avoiding high-interest debt in life can make a huge difference in a family’s ability to achieve their goals and maintain financial wellness in the long term. This initiative will empower students by offering loans of up to $2,000 each, ensuring they have the support to pursue their dreams and create brighter futures!

Single Moms 2Gen Academic Support

Interfaith Community Services and YWCA are joining forces to establish a program in our community for single mothers and their children. Both organizations will work closely to seize this opportunity and explore deeper, more meaningful collaborations for families in the community.
