The Power of the Purse “Women in Wellness”

The Power of the Purse event on Wednesday, March 8, 2023, featuring “Women in Wellness” will be live in-person on International Women’s Day at the Phoenix Zoo.

The 12th Annual Power of the Purse in-person conference features remarks, a keynote and expert panel discussion highlighting “Women in Wellness” on March 8, 4:30 to 7:00 p.m., from the Neely Education & Events Center at Phoenix Zoo, in Phoenix, AZ.

“This year’s conference theme highlights women as powerhouses, driving economic growth for our families, communities and the state of Arizona,” notes Mónica Villalobos, President and CEO of the Arizona Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. “From the halls of government to our state’s largest corporate board rooms, to stages and virtual venues all over the country women are leading the way.

The Arizona Hispanic Chamber of Commerce is delighted to host this annual gathering, celebrating the success of our women business owners, and providing them with the tools for growth.”According to the Arizona Hispanic Chamber’s latest annual DATOS report, Arizona is home to an estimated 123,000 Hispanic-owned business, a majority of which, about 66%, are owned by Latinas.

This year’s Virtual Power of the Purse event includes:
• Networking 4:30 p.m.- 5:00 p.m.
• Program 5:00 p.m.- 6:30 p.m.
• Keynote by January Contreras, Assistant Secretary at the Administration for Children and Families at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. (biography available upon request).

Special remarks provided by Carmen Heredia, new director of Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS), Arizona’s Medicaid and CHIP Program and Dr. Patrick Maloney from Maloney Chiropractic. Suzanne Pfister, President & CEO, Vitalyst Health Foundation Arizona will be moderating the panel on the topic of Women in Wellness. The panel will include:
