Hot Dang, Tohono Chul’s Fall Plant Sale Hosts a Plethora of Plants
Tucson, AZ – Fall is the perfect time to get the goods to transform your backyard into a desert oasis thanks to Tohono Chul’s annual Fall Plant Sale. Each year they host a fall sale with a wide selection of landscape-ready plants including unique, hard to find specimens. Whether folks are planting them in the ground or in small containers, they can rest assured that the plants available are hardy and arid-adapted. It’s important to invest in plants that are adapted to the Sonoran Desert region as they are drought- and heat- tolerant and more likely to thrive in this climate. The plant sale takes place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, October 30 and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, October 31. Members are especially lucky as they receive early access to the sale, and discounts, as part of their membership benefits. The members’ only preview is from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Wednesday, October 27. The plant sale is now located in their main parking lot located off Paseo del Norte.
From trees to succulents and everything in-between, they have it all! Don’t forget to browse their Pollinator Garden section for the right plants to attract native bees, hummingbirds, and butterflies to your garden or yard. They also have handouts available for picking the right plants and if you are still not sure which species is right for your yard, they have people on hand to help.
If you can’t make it to this sale, check out Tohono Chul’s Retail Greenhouse which is open year round. In addition to the wide selection of plants, they also showcase Talavera pots and other yard decorations to make your backyard a much deserved retreat. This is just one of several seasonal plant sales Tohono Chul hosts throughout the year, which help to raise awareness of the gardens and inspire botanic education and water conservation.
