Unlocking the Secrets of the Human Anatomy

October 23, 2024 @ 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm MST

Unlocking the Secrets of the Human Anatomy: SAACA and Roche Present a Bold New Gallery Exhibition Featuring 40 Local Artists’ Unique Interpretations of Body ArchitectureTucson, AZ – The Southern Arizona Arts & Cultural Alliance (SAACA) invites the community to an opening night reception for the new gallery exhibition, Inside Out, Outside In: Focus on the Human Body’s Architecture, on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Ventana Gallery at the Roche Tissue Diagnostics’ Ventana Gallery on their Oro Valley campus. This thought-provoking exhibition celebrates the human body’s intricate and diverse architecture through various artistic mediums.

Guests can explore an array of artwork focused on individual organs and body parts, from the heart and brain to muscles and blood vessels and bones. Featuring contributions from local and national artists, the exhibit spans a range of styles—realistic, abstract, metaphorical, and whimsical—and includes visual art, mixed media, video, and even performance.

The show will provide important educational information on the most prevalent cancers that can infiltrate the body, as well as local nonprofit resources for those currently going through treatment.

Roche is additionally hosting a donation campaign that supports four important local charities that are doing significant work to help cancer patients and their caregivers: Bag It, El Rio Health Foundation, Arizona Foundation for Cancer, and the American Cancer Society.

The opening reception will feature complimentary wine, light snacks, and live music, creating a welcoming environment for guests to view the extraordinary artwork and interact with some participating artists. As a special highlight, live movement pieces inspired by the theme may also be performed.

Hosted at the Roche Tissue Diagnostics Gallery, this exhibition provides a unique opportunity to experience art within a world-leading facility dedicated to cancer diagnostics. The gallery is housed in Roche’s Oro Valley campus, where art is integral to the environment, providing inspiration and respite for employees, patients, and the wider community.

This event is free and open to the public, but RSVP is required due to space limitations. Attendees can look forward to an evening of inspiring art, community connection, and celebrating the human body’s wonders.
