US: September 19, 2010Devil. A group of people trapped in a elevator realize that the devil is among them. September 20: The Arbor is a documentary about a Yorkshire family torn apart because of a woman's refusal to take care of anyone, including herself. It is steeped in sadness and the waste of it all but the renowned British stiff upper lip is in full play and it feels more like people doing their dirty washing in public than the tragedy that it is. September 22: You Will Meet A Tall Dark Stranger The belief is that everyone has a book in them, which is true, but unfortunately it's not bound to be a good one. Another belief is that the more you write, the better you get, but this is Woody Allen's 40th offering and although he started with some gems, much trash has followed, many of which simply went through the motions of storytelling and showed Allen's distain for the audience and the people who finance his films. Pictures.Every breed of owl, every color and feathered couture of the species makes an appearance in this film, but these stunning creations do little more than look good, making this into yet another good-guys-versus-bad-guys saga. You Again, When a young woman realizes her brother is about to marry the girl who bullied her in high school, she sets out to expose the fiancée's true colors. Touchstone Pictures Buried. Limited opening. Wide opening release on October 8, 2010. Lionsgate.
Fixer: The Taking of Ajmal Naqshbandi This documentary tells the tragic story of Ajmal Naqshbandi, a 24 year old bi-lingual Afghani, who worked as a Fixer for international journalists, facilitating, translating and gaining access so that they can write their stories. We meet him, we spend time with him and discover what a trusting soul he is as he assures us that the Taliban would never harm a fellow Afghani. He clearly clings to this belief when he is filmed in captivity and announces that he is safe because he is in the hands of fellow Muslims, in the hands of Islam. But his worried eyes tell a different tale. DVD release. August 2010 Movies | October 2010 | More 2010 new film releasesFilm Entertainment Magazine© 2010 Film Entertainment Magazine. EMOL.org.
